New Organization Raising Money For Rescue Dogs

100% of Donations Go Directly To Fund Baby Ashley’s Surgery
“Hi, I’m Ashley! My foster Mommy asked me to tell you my story, so here it goes. It’s a little story, because I’m just a little girl: Some Angels from Angels Among Us Rescue saw that I was listed as “Special Needs” at a local kill shelter. I was just a baby — only about 8 weeks old. The Shelter said my “Special Needs” was that I had six toes. But see, that’s not the case. I have what is called Ectrodactyly (I had to have my Foster Mommy help me spell that word!), sometimes called the “Lobster-Claw Syndrome.” Basically, I can’t really walk on my right front paw, because it’s split like a lobster claw, and the split in the bone goes all the way up my leg, so my leg is weak like spaghetti. My Foster Mommy took me to a Doctor to have it checked out. First they said they might have to have it amputated. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds scary. Then she took me to a specialist, a really nice man at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. He said he can do some surgery on my paw now, and then again when I’m ten months old (I’m about 3 months old right now), and that might give me the ability to walk on my front leg!! That would be awesome!!! Right now I have eight foster sister and brother dogs, and they’re all grown up and much bigger than I am, and boy, do I have to try to run fast to keep up with them!! Truthfully, I think they’re all a little scared of me (hee hee)! I try to bark really loud at them and chase them — and they run!! Even though I’m only about 7lbs! My Foster Mommy laughs when I do this, so I do it a lot!
